“If anyone has the chance to revolutionize the world with what we can do, it’s our team — the Dean’s Scholars. Our dreams and crazy ideas are now a matter of ‘where do we start’ rather than ‘yeah, right.’

We turn ‘if’ into ‘when.’ Being a Dean’s Scholar means putting every one of my dreams on the table. Now I know that I can finally start working toward achieving them.”

“The Dean’s Scholars Program has connected me to many like-minded, eager peers that I can trust and count on academically, professionally, and emotionally. I’ve built the confidence and skills necessary to succeed and accept my shortcomings, while also being provided the opportunity to learn at one of the best colleges for my major. I am honored to be one of the first recipients of this scholarship.”

“Coming from a middle-class family in Puerto Rico, my hopes of studying at a top U.S. university were very limited. It was very sad, as the dream of a young, aspiring teenager was dissipated by the financial aspect. Being selected was a life-changing opportunity, and I’ve learned that the program represents far more than a scholarship. It’s also an opportunity to develop professionally and personally alongside so many diverse and talented students. I am very grateful and feel a responsibility to give back. Just as this program is helping me fulfill my dream, I plan to do the same for other students in the future.”

“Prior to being named a Dean’s Scholar, I made a huge leap of faith in choosing Georgia Tech as my home for the next four years. I knew I would have to take out hefty loans to support myself. I was anxious about being in debt, as there was no guarantee for my future. However, being selected changed my life. With this scholarship, I don’t constantly stress about my next move and now have the freedom to choose what I want to do outside of class. I went from worrying about my future to planning it.”
