Jacob Barnes is from Flowery Branch, Georgia. He is currently a member of the Georgia Tech Marching Band and plans on joining a Georgia Tech student competition team. He has aspired to become a mechanical engineer since a very young age and has much interest in the area.

Saaketa Chalasani is from Concord, North Carolina, where she served as president of Science Olympiad, Model UN, and Women in STEM at Cox Mill High School. She is also a lifelong Girl Scout and has earned her Gold Award for starting the nonprofit organization Code Juliettes. Additionally, she participated for two summers in the Raytheon Technologies Future Engineers Internship. Saaketa is majoring in computer engineering because of the variety of topics it covers and the many opportunities it offers for innovation and problem-solving.

Yoonho Choi is from Chantilly, Virginia. As a creative person, he likes the engineering design process because it promotes innovative solutions that positively transform societies around the world. He has participated in STEM activities and competitions since childhood and found programming microcontrollers and visual simulation most interesting. He is majoring in computer engineering to further explore his interests with applications in many evolving technologies, such as robotics, devices, and AI. He looks forward to joining IEEE, CREATE-X, and summer research programs in Georgia Tech and working as an intern in technology companies.

Hebah Fadah is from Yemen, and from a young age, she has been fascinated by math and physics. Upon coming to the U.S., she knew she wanted to pursue aerospace engineering. Her participation in the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars program solidified this decision. She is studying aerospace engineering at Georgia Tech and minoring in astrophysics to deepen her understanding of the physical universe.

Chris Kibwana is from Suwanee, Georgia. In high school, he refereed power soccer for athletes with physical disabilities. Because of the memories he made as a referee, he decided to study mechanical engineering so he can build prosthetics for those with physical disabilities.

She is interested in using practical problem-solving to develop innovations that improve the future and contribute to sustainability, which is why she is majoring in industrial and systems engineering.

Joshua McLeod grew up in Pennsylvania, often visiting the famed Franklin Institute, a science museum in Philadelphia that sparked an attraction to STEM. After moving to Norfolk, Virginia, Joshua continued to explore STEM interests and became interested in engineering electronics at a summer program. He is majoring in electrical engineering, concentrating on circuit technology and energy systems.

He also has designed and built his own model rocket from scratch using household items. As a Latina majoring in aerospace engineering, she aspires to represent the possibilities to underrepresented groups in the STEM fields and continue the legacy of giving back to diversify the STEM community.

Ndiya Onuoha is from Kennesaw, Georgia. Throughout high school, she was the president of National Honors Society, head magnet ambassador, varsity captain of her school’s cross country and track teams as well as a content creator with more than 45,000 subscribers. She also co-led research at Georgia Tech for two summers with the EcoCar initiative to make the team’s vehicle more accessible and functional. She chose mechanical engineering because she has always loved the science of creating innovative solutions to everyday problems. She intends to minor in business and be involved in programs such as CREATE-X to blend her interests in innovation and marketing.

Maliq Sims is from Marietta, Georgia, where he participated in many volunteer and innovation clubs in high school, including TSA. He is majoring in mechanical engineering because he wants to work in the automotive industry. He found an interest in cars once he started driving and loved maintaining his car and understanding how every component worked together. Maliq has always loved observing mechanics and learning about new solutions for real problems. Mechanical engineering is also a very broad field, which will give him endless opportunities for variety.

Rohan Tonmoy is from New York City, New York, where he was a leader of two nonprofit organizations focused on academic tutoring and student outreach in underserved communities. He competed for his high school Science Olympiad teams and participated in an artificial intelligence pre-internship at Citibank. He became passionate about the interdisciplinary development of biotechnology after taking AP classes in high school across all the core sciences and realized that he wanted to pursue a career incorporating all these subjects. With the goal of developing innovative biotechnological devices, he is majoring in biomedical engineering.
